Appway's architecture is object-oriented and based on services. All components use industry standards such as J2EE, PDF, XML and SQL. The Appway technology architecture provides flexibility in the choice of deployment and integration strategy.

Display Components
Based on the common "Model View Controller" Pattern, the Display Components provide a standards-based HTML user interface. All aspects of interactive data entry methods are provided through configurable software components.
Service Components
The Service Components are the functional core of Appway. All aspects such as Processes, Business Rules or Documents are processed by these services. Each of the services provides a well-defined set of functions which allows external components to integrate with Appway via the Integration Components.
Data Components
The Data Components are responsible for persistent data storage, carrying aggregated, collected and processed data to the various Appway services for processing. The Data Container provides access methods to the System Dictionary which contains all operational data. The Data Container is the central interface between the service components and the System Dictionary.
Integration Components
Appway runs as a data accumulator and data augmenter. Data aggregated and collected within Appway is handed over to complementary systems such as CRM systems, banking systems or electronic archives. Appway offers an open plug-in software architecture which provides access to the full range of Appway functionality via the service components. In line with the Software Development Kit (SDK), it supports system integrators to implement the required Adapters for any third party software system.
