An example:Task: Visual Document DesignerAppway comes with an XML-based language for the definition of dynamic documents which also act as a basis for the compilation of PDF documents. This language consists of elements for the visualization of tables and images, for the formating of text as well as of logical elements like conditions and loops. In the current Appway version the user has to write the XML code by hand in a text editor.
The current editor provides assistance like validation and automatic formatting of XML codes. However, regarding usability it lags way behind the other visual and drag&drop-based editors in Appway. As an example, have a look at the process editor:Based on the existing XLM language, a visual editor must be developed. It should be based on the most modern web technologies and provide the user with a intuitive and easy-to-handle environment for the implementation of dynamic documents.
The new editor will be a fix component of the browser-based administration environment of Appway.
Additionally, the handling of the XML language should be completed in a way that users of the Java-based Appway SDK may implement new elements in the language. An example could be an element for the generation and visualization of a bar code.
