Bank 2015 - From Spaghetti to Lasagne
On November 4, 2009, more than 40 executives from the Financial Services Industry found their way to restaurant Bärengasse in Zurich, Switzerland to attend our unofficial After-Finance Forum session. They took the chance to gain insight into a current high-priority topic with the promising title: Bank 2015 – from Spaghetti to Lasagne.
The event's theme embraced the service-oriented approach to accomplish the transformation towards Bank 2015. With Enzo Giannini, CEO of our key partner Finaclear and professor Dr Rainer Alt, holding the chair in Information Systems and Application Systems in Business and Administration with University of Leipzig, René Hürlimann could proudly announce two capacities in their fields.
Being a team member of CC Sourcing, competence center of the Universities of St.Gallen and Leipzig, professor Dr Rainer Alt presented first-hand insights of the study: “Transformation towards Bank 2015”. The study focused on how banks will successfully master the step from traditionally grown application environments to an industrialized, process-driven approach and at the same time, to achieve operational efficiency and high value creation to cope with the requirements of a modern bank. After this review, Enzo Giannini was keen to build the bridge between research results and the praxis-oriented in-place architecture at Finaclear.
In his spirited speech, Hanspeter Wolf, founder and CEO of Numcom Software, demonstrated what “from Spaghetti to Lasagne” has to do with Appway. Requirements in (banking) business nowadays are quite demanding and various. By showing success stories of our customers, Hanspeter demonstrated how Appway is able to unite rules, processes, information and systems in one single dynamic business application.
The continuous talking about Spaghetti and Lasagne quickened the one or other participant’s appetite in a far less allegoric meaning. After a short Q&A round, René Hürlimann invited the audience to the second part of the evening: discussing ideas and challenges, having a drink and tasting the delicious Argentinean specialties of restaurant Bärengasse.
