“Mummy, look at that cute little bird there on the window! Why is he riding a rocket? With a rocket he must be unbelievable fast, faster than anybody else, faster even than his very own chirp! Maybe he’s Superbird, Mummy? Gee, no, now I know: that must be Super Sonic Bird!” Where the youngster is pointing at is the ground floor office of Hardturmstrasse 66 in the heart of Zurich, where for a short time three big stickers cover a large part of the window front. Is there a new comic shop in town? No, and you probably won’t guess who’s renting that office space: it’s Numcom, a software company.

What has a birdie on a rocket and a software company in common, you may ask. A lot! Super Sonic Bird is our mascot. Like him, Numcom Software AG is a young company but already fully fledged and on its way to new and far horizons. With our software package called Appway we are quicker and more flexible at implementing business processes matching customer needs than our big competitors. Nevertheless, we keep brooding over making our product even leaner and faster: we teach our imagination to fly like a bird with its hatchlings – or as our Director of R&D, Oliver Brupbacher, did with Super Sonic Bird:

Thus, every member of our staff has something in common with the little fellow smiling whimsically from our ground floor windows. That’s why we call ourselves the Appbirds and, consequently, the headquarters at Hardturmstrasse where we hatch our ideas is our bird’s nest.
